Part description

With the part description the user is able to define how the part is to be considered in the design process (see also: semantic feature).

You can assign dimensions and faces to the part using properties. Based on this data, parts list information can be derived in the background. A later automatic mating is also enabled by means of the part description with the mate management.

With the nonrecurring selection of properties in the part description you are abel to use these during the design process multiple times and to achieve a high construction safety. You can apply a part description to every SolidWorks^® part or every assembly. Of course you'll still be able to simply define the descriptions yourself.
