In the master thesis the design and construction process was compared with user reports of 2D and other 3D-systems as well as with stand-alone installations of SolidWorks^® and PASCAM WoodWorks with regard to time and quality.

The results were remarkable:
In comparison with 2D-systems SolidWorks^® already has an temporal advantage, but PASCAM WoodWorks could reduce the time for construction in halve.

The construction quality of a 3D-system is originally higher as that of a 2D-system. PASCAM WoodWorks improves construction quality significantly, since the user can fall back on existing and proven construction methods very easily. The user is enabled to use and re-use user-defined prototype models and templates which can be modified any time very easily, using sophisticated feature technology and integrated automatic processes very efficiently. Furthermore dimensions and relations between dimensions can be examined and controlled very easily and in a transparent way via the PASCAM Variable management.
